Why are savENRG® Ambient Packs better than standard gel packs?
savENRG® Ambient Packs work best in the range of 25°C to 15°C (77°F to 59°F) while gel packs work best in the range of -5°C to 5°C (23°F to 41°F).
When a gel pack is used to keep a product from overheating within a room temperature range of 25°C to 15°C (77°F to 59°F), its capacity to absorb heat from the ambient temperature is low – 4.186 J/gC (1g of gel warms up by 1°C while it absorbs 4.186 Joules of heat).
When a savENRG® Ambient Pack is used for the same application within a temperature range of 25°C to 15°C (77°F to 59°F), its capacity to absorb heat from the ambient conditions is very high – 170.000 J/gC (1g of savENRG® Ambient PCM absorbs 170 Joules of heat without change in temperature). Thus, a smaller quantity of savENRG® Ambient PCM can safely keep a product from overheating as compared to the quantity that will be needed for a gel pack.
